What started as an online romance between two 18-year-olds quickly turned into a web of lies, fake identities, and increasingly questionable decisions.

Back in 2005, Thomas Montgomery, a 46-year-old former Marine, had been posing as an 18-year-old on a site called Pogo. During this time, he developed a deeply inappropriate relationship with a young, beautiful 18-year-old high school student named Jessi, who went by the screen name TalHotBlond.

When Jessi begins another relationship with a younger man, jealousy and obsession begin pushing an online fantasy toward very real (and eventually deadly) consequences.

And just when you think you’ve figured out who’s lying about what…think again.
